Portals of the brain are nothing more than trapped attention in any particular part of your life. This means your actions or your perceptions, or more likely both, are stuck in a repetitious, unchanging, ineffectual rut. We stop creating by design and determinism and just start following our creations by default. This not only makes us stagnated and frustrated, but we lose all track of time. We then wonder where the time went; in many ways, it is not much different from insanity. Case in point, insanity is trapped attention. Hence the old saying, “Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is insanity.”
